Is the cost of two drinks enough to learn bartending?

This depends on what you want to achieve.

Don't over look online bartending schools if your planning to learn how to make a few drinks to impress your friends. The material they contain are sometimes even better than the real schools themselves. It is quicker and easier to update material online than it is to retrain all the instructors.

The costs in an online bartending school is much lesser than traditional schools. There is usually no staff needed for each class, or rent associated. Video demonstration and interactive media from online bartending schools are very effective compared to a book.

Learning from a website; you will not pick up your first bottle and make a cocktail until your actually making your first real cocktail.


If $500 dollars was spent on a traditional bartending school, $100 of that is benefits due to practicing within a real bar setup. $380 of the benefit is to them finding you a job. The other $20 is the actual material you will be learning which you can get from either an online bartending school or a bartending book.

It is recommended that you purchase a bartender kit in order to practice as your are learning from an online resource.

You will learn how to bartend from an online bartending course, but you will have to know where the jobs are after completing.
